Our top range electric heat pump is not reliant solely on electricity; it operates by transferring heat from the surrounding air or ground to heat water for domestic use. This energy-efficient method can reduce both your environmental footprint and your energy expenses.

You can take advantage of the hot water rebate, formerly known as the solar hot water rebate, which offers up to $1,000 for eligible heat pump and hot water systems. Check your eligibility – Solar Victoria

  • Lower Energy Bills – Uses less electricity, saving on costs.

  • Eco-Friendly – Reduces carbon footprint.

  • Rebates Available – Government incentives can lower initial costs.

It only uses electricity to power the compressor and fan, rather than directly heating the water with an electric element.

The system harnesses renewable energy to produce hot water without requiring solar panels and is up to 80% more efficient than standard electric units.

Our hot water system uses advanced technology, working similarly to an air conditioner or fridge in reverse: A fan pulls in air, capturing ambient heat, which turns the refrigerant liquid into gas. The compressor then pressurizes this gas to create heat, which is used to warm the water in the tank. After heating, the gas converts back to liquid, repeating the cycle.

There are only 6 requirements for you to qualify:

  1. You live in Victoria.
  2. You are a homeowner.
  3. You have not claimed these rebates in the past.
  4. Your household income is less than $210,000 a year.
  5. Your property value is less than $3 million.
  6. Your system is more than 3 years old.

To meet government scheme requirements, we have to take your old system for proper decommissioning.

The right heat pump hot water system size depends on your household’s hot water usage. A 200–270L system typically suits 2-4 people, while a larger 300–400L unit is ideal for households of 4 or more.

The heat pump system runs its water heating cycle once a day to fill up the storage tank with hot water. They only draw a small amount of electricity to transfer ambient heat into the water, keeping operating costs low while ensuring you always have hot water. The compressor fan starts heating water when the water temperature falls below 45 degrees celcius, or it needs to be refilled after using hot water. Heat pump hot water systems are designed to be highly energy-efficient.

Installation typically takes around 3-4 days, but we also offer emergency upgrades for faster turnaround if needed.

The sound level is between 40 and 55 dB, which is similar to a soft background conversation.

Our specialist electricians and plumbers will typically complete the installation process in approximately 2 hours, allowing you to start using your water promptly.

Simply contact us 03 9007 7878 and one of our assessors will perform an assessment of your current heat pump. Following the assessment, you will receive a quotation to commence the process.

It is not recommended to install the compressor indoors, as heat pumps need good airflow to function properly. Placing the compressor in a low-airflow area can lead to issues and may void the warranty.

No, you’ll need to go through an accredited provider, like Glower, to qualify for rebates or discounts on a hot water system upgrade.

No need to worry—we’ll supply a licensed plumber and electrician for the installation. The quote includes the cost of installation, decommissioning, and removal of your old hot water unit.

Our heat pumps are built for the Australian climate, designed to operate efficiently in temperatures ranging from -5°C to +50°C.

According to Australian data, switching to a heat pump hot water system can reduce hot water energy costs by up to 60–70% compared to traditional electric storage water heaters. For an average household, this can mean annual savings of approximately $300 to $700, depending on hot water usage and electricity rates. These savings add up over the system’s lifespan, making heat pumps a cost-effective and eco-friendly choice.

The lifespan of a heat pump hot water system is typically 10 to 15 years, though with regular maintenance, some systems can last up to 20 years. Factors like the quality of the unit, climate conditions, and proper servicing can all influence longevity.

Yes, they’re ranging from 5-7 years depending on the heat pump water heater type and manufacturer you’ve chosen.

A heat pump water heater uses electricity to move heat from the air into the water. It consumes less electricity by transferring heat instead of directly generating it, while a traditional electric water heater directly heats water using electrical resistance (like an electric element) or gas combustion.

Heat pump hot water systems require minimal maintenance, including:

  1. Cleaning the air filter every 3–6 months.
  2. Inspecting for leaks around pipes and connections.
  3. Checking the condensate drain for blockages.
  4. Annual servicing by a professional to check refrigerant levels and overall performance.

Regular maintenance helps ensure efficient operation and prolongs the system’s lifespan.
